France beat England for a slot in Qatar World Cup semifinals

England had an upper hand in the game. Ball possession by the England team stood at 57% against 43% for France team. England had 16 shots on goal, out of which 8 shots were on target, 4 shots off target and 4 shots blocked. They also had 5 corners. France team had 8 shots on goal, of which 5 shots were on target, 2 shots off target and one shot was blocked. France team had also 2 corners. 

Despite the impressive statistics obtained by England, it was France who scored the first goal in the 17th minute by Aurelian Tchouameni. The England team tied up the score through a penalty which was scored by Harry Kane in the 54th minute. France went ahead for the second time with a goal from Olivier Giroud's header in the 78th minute of the game.

A second penalty was awarded to England team in the 84thminute after scrutiny from VAR. Unfortunately, Harry Kane missed by shooting the ball hard which went far away the above goal line. At the final whistle France beat England by 2 goals to 1, booking a slot in the semifinals which they will play against Morocco who are the first African team to ever reach world cup semifinals.
